Where I Live

Yep... you guessed it. I live in "The African Inn"

The first time I asked about the area I was told the following: "It's a little better than DownTown LA, just like the Turkish Ghettoe."

How appealing does that sound? But in fact it's not so bad. I'm getting used to the surroundings, and after exploring a bit more... I like it. Also, right outside my building, there is a huge market twice a week. Fresh food and cheap clothing right at my doorstep.

And now that I'm finally meeting my flatmates it's becoming home. The following are pictures of my hood...

This is a little coffeeshop right accross my building. I pass it every morning go to the tram. I've yet to try something there, but it always looks really good through the window.

This picture is taken on a bridge that i cross every morning. I have to cross a wide line of traintracks and then board that train ( #20, 23 or 25)

This is the famous Albert Heins that I have adoped as my new Ralphs. Its right next to the tram stop and the closest store around. Can you believe this? They sell BAGS that you put your groceries into for 0.20 euros!!! People have to bring their own bags!!! And I thought US was capitalistic.
